There's not better documented proof that I've been embracing a kindergartener's dressing mentality on top, while opting for heels on the bottom lately. This causes confusion for most everyone else, and the perfect balance for yours truly. No matter what season, I will always be a sucker for ivory on ivory on ivory. There is something so etherial about the color and its hues that makes garments and accessories in said color irresistible to my senses when shopping or in my own closet. Coupled with lace is enough girly vomit to give me the dose of femininity I need, that my personality lacks. I revel in crude humor, and curse like a sailor, but my outfits don't have to give that away. Thanks to Topshop for making my ladylike dreams come true.

Regularly scheduled programming is back, and so is my affinity for powder blue. I have a feeling the pastel color and it's respective lighter tinted hues will be my number one color this spring. It makes white or black look crisp; which describing looks in the same way you would a potato chip, makes total sense in my book.

Wore my favorite sweater from the Alexa Chung collection for Madewell, and is quite simply the perfect angora sweater. Completely guilty of buying the white and blue. I'm surprised I haven't posted about either yet for the absurd amount of times I've worn them both. So much so, I'm shocked this one hasn't fallen apart yet. Still, even when it does one day find the graveyard, I don't see myself parting with it. The reason might or might not have to do with petting the softness from time to time.

I didn't want to lug around my huge camera since I had a feeling there'd be some sort of shopping detour (which there was) and also didn't want to test my nonexistent muscles in the process whilst marathoning around the city. If you own a dslr, and are for some reason looking into buying barbells to sculpt your arms, save your money and just do curls with the damn thing. Maybe I'm just puny. Only the most generous friend would give up something like an Alexander Wang sweater regardless of the style or if it suits them. One of my best friends Carmella gave me this sweater yesterday since she's not super into turtlenecks. Knowing I'm a devout turtleneck/sweater hoarder in general, she added to my cause with my first piece of Alexander Wang apparel to hit my closet. (Thanks again lady!) More than excited, I threw it on today for a quick coffee run, and discovered that a coat is more optional than necessary when wearing such a high quality, heavy knit. It felt like walking around with an automatic heater, which proved more than suitable for being known as the person who always feels like a frozen ice pop. (although tastes good, you don't want to feel like one. constantly.)

This has opened me up to the idea that some things are just worth the price tag. I hope when I graduate and find a real job in the real scary world, I'll have more money to use on investment pieces that are worth the plunge, like said sweater. All I know is I'm willing to work pretty hard for that luxury after experiencing such an intense knit experience.

One of the nicer days seen in any January I've probably been on the planet, I wore only over the knee socks to cover my bare legs with my absolute favorite skirt in the entire world. I probably wear this skirt too much, but that's only because it's the most effortless piece in my wardrobe. A true mini skirt contender in a sea of black skirt doppelgängers that clutter my drawers. Completely no fuss, goes with everything, and always keeps it's full shape. The last bit forever seals the deal. But really any mini skirt helps out the vertically challenged such as myself. A magic recipe!

In other news this is my first post for Teen Vogue Fashion Click! I had been waiting for months to hear back to be apart of the community and I'm really excited to be contributing! Here's to more warm January days and fun posts.

Shocking vertigo inducing clutch bag post 2.0. Couldn't think of a better way to get through the Monday slumps than taking my bag out for a second spin. What's embarrassing to most here in the suburbs of Bergen County Hell makes more than enough sense to me, and in this case a mirrored clutch 2 times the size of my head. Also wore my new patent vixen shoes in combination for a coffee run that was more fun than usual mostly because wearing new shoes is something I consider "fun." I lead an exciting life, really.

Last of my cap toe moment. Stepped up this rather gloomy, pattern headache outfit with the craziest silver envelope bag from Zara. It's fun to mix with similar patterns and add a touch of uncertainty, especially if there are particularly blinding capabilities, like this bag possesses. It's even brighter in real life, I might need to inform who ever I'm encountering on that given day to carry a pair of sunglasses.

Some of my cap toe finds! The Chanels are the best deal I've found in a while. They are retailed at $460.00, and I scored this pair on Ebay worn once for under $200. Shocked to even find them, I placed a bid in the last 20 seconds of the auction and squealed when I won. Besides Sunglasses, this is the only other Chanel item I own. They really are one of my most prized pieces, especially since the design is so classic. I keep them in the box on my dresser top to zone out at every now and then.

I still love the other two gems I came across that are lucky finds within themselves. I wore the blue/black pair the other day which will be in the next post, and were so comfortable it felt like walking on a cute cap toe cloud. I wish I could find two pairs that are similar but different colors, which would allow finding the clown within to prance around in both a la Miroslava Duma. But have had no luck. We can't all afford 2 pairs of Burberry Prorsums. But, one can dream.

Another day, another lust list. Cap toes are currently taking up more space in my brain than can actually be expressed through a singular polyvore session; so much so that I have done a simple diy to fulfill the need, and hunted down a few other pairs at more affordable prices. My options are also a bunch of simple colors easy to mix and match with outfits. However, there's no reason to stop from dreaming.

I think my favorite from the list are the Giuseppe's since they are perforated leather with a white cap toe; making them super classic with a side of sexy. This has shoe porn written all over it.

I'm back! After a month of stress, school, work, and a negative amount of time to my name I am finally back to wreak havoc on my blog. You could say the time was needed to get things done, re evaluate myself, and reconnect with my favorite people; so honestly it's been time well spent. My birthday was also this past month on the 2nd, which is when these pictures are from.

I wore this serious dress from Zara with fabric thick enough for body armor or maybe even the prettiest of bullet proof vests. It may have been a bit bulky, but suitable enough for my tastes to celebrate turning ancient. (23).

Wore a not-so-Thanksgiving appropriate outfit. High levels of discomfort were experienced after our two course meal, but once I have an outfit planned out in my head nothing comes between us. < - (last part of that sentence was induced by tryptophan delirium?) I should probably go with plan gigantic sweater next year, but I was so happy to get more use out of my favorite shoes and break in some new pieces acquired over the past few weeks.

Spired' by saturdays continues with one of the my most obvious style crushes on none other than Alexa Chung. I will probably never get over her spread in the November 2010 issue of Elle UK when she wore this perfect wool leo hat that I kept perfectly stored in my brain radar for what felt like an eternity. Finally came across a similar gem at work, and saw that it wasn't selling. I had my heart set on buying it when it went on sale, and when it did plus an additional 50% off, I finally snatched one. At a perfect $9.99 pricetag it's definitely my most eye grabbing hat perched on my closet shelf.

Indecisiveness got the best of me when picking cover up for the impending cold. I was wearing my trusty leather jacket earlier, but brought along my softest vintage cape for some extra warmth. Also serving as a top notch blanket on a mini road trip, this cape makes it more than okay to feel rather granny. Sometimes it's beneficial to be uncertain, you end up with more options.

Ultimate bi-polar weather allowed me to whip out these corduroy shorts; at least it was in a fall appropriate burgundy color. I know shorts are questionable in November but one thing is for sure-- I can't get enough of fuzzy sweaters, and no 60 something degree weather can stop me from covering up in angora blends. I've almost got one in every color. This one is cropped and doesn't shed. Win win situation.

Another obsession as of late is Warpaint. Dreamy, angsty music is my bag these days.

I'm trying to start this occasional series that I want to do every so often on Saturdays. Spired' by Saturdays will illustrate a look that inspired me to wear what I ended up wearing on that given day. For this first Saturday I'm ever trying this, I was inspired by Annie's outfit on the cover of the September Issue of Spin Magazine.

Not exactly the same, but got the general idea with my hat, and mustard colors. It was a bit warmer outside this day, so I finally got to wear these shorts. I saw St. Vincent on Thursday in NYC and wore this outfit yesterday, the day after.

The show was incredible, Annie's voice and performance combined can hardly even be explained, you would have to see her live, if you like her music. I can only best describe her presence as elegantly reckless, she looks like a porcelain doll in real life, but truly shreds on stage. I'm pretty tiny so I managed to score a seat atop the speaker in the front. For once, I had a prime view of the stage, one that I've never had at any show I've ever been to. Sometimes being small has it's benefits!

Results of watching an overdose of moody-color-scene movies such as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Submarine. Both are my favorites and have such prominent blue undertones that have been latching onto my subconscious in various ways. Although hard to explain quite how, the most obvious has to be serious difficulty avoiding blueish / gray colors while getting dressed. So much so, that I failed to wear any other color. (exhibit a, above.)

Every once in a while I question my judgment of decent footwear. This is one of those cases, since I can't say gothic shoes are apart of my comfort zone. Creepers were occupying a space in my brain for too long to not give them a go, so before I knew it I was pressing the "process order" button on Ebay.
I have to say I've fallen in love with them and although they might not seem like something I would normally gravitate towards, I actually love how crazy they look paired with the most simple of outfits. I dream of wearing them with floral dresses, turtlenecks, skinny trousers, and 60's style shift dresses. My first attempt of bringing them into the world resulted in a double houndstooth, fuzzy sweater combo.

Mod vibes for fall are in full swing.

What would fall be without apple and pumpkin adventures?! I walked around this orchard today with my serious shopping face on for the best apples I could find. Most were casualties to the ground with bruises and scrapes, but we did manage to get a good bag full to make excessive apple-ized treats in the coming weeks.
It was actually 80 degrees today so I kept it ventilated with my semi-isabel knit over some random thrifted slip. I got it on sale for ten bucks, which blows the price of the original khan shirt at two hundred something out of the water. It's a great substitute that didn't break this college girl's dwindling bank account. And I mean come on dudes ...it's just a shirt.

Learned much more than I did last conference. Many notebook, cell phone note pad, and mental notes were all taken throughout my long day. My favorite bits were minx manicures, chocolate ice cream bars, and meeting some other cool blogger girls. Top two favorite panelists had to be Coco Rocha and the legendary Mr. Joe Zee. They both offered the most insightful information about blogging and fashion. I even mustered up the courage to ask a question during Joe Zee's panel and felt my hands shaking afterwards. It was so inspiring to hear about fashion, the future of blogs, and social media tips from the brains behind Elle Magazine. If I find a video of his panel, I'll be sure to post the link. Did any of you guys attend? If so, send me your links I'd love to read about your experience!

I don't know if you guys are as excited as I am for tomorrow, but it will be my second time in attendance for the seasonal IFB Conference in NYC tomorrow! My first time was posted about here. What's even better is that the conference also starts off Fashion Week lasting out until the weekend. I have my fingers crossed to be able to attend at least one show, but if not I'll still be covering my experience at the IFB conference, as well as my Fashion's Night Out. Not so much into berets, but very much on the floppy hat team. This is what my rose obsessed color pallette from the spring/summer is turning into for fall. Welcoming hints of burgundy hues with open arms, basically. Navy and burgundy are my new favorite colors for fall. Some navy loving via corduroy shorts, suede platforms, and angora sweaters coming soon. Actually really excited to accept new color ideas into my monotone wardrobe. Trying to steer away from beige/white/taupe/rose is going to be too hard, so here's to slowly adding mini pops of color. Attempt #1 : success.

So all the mushy celebratory balloon picnic-ness means it's my bloggiversary! One year ago today I started this thing to share my personal style, likes, lusts and everything in between with all of you guys I relate so much to. I started reading style blogs long before launching this, and honestly sometimes I can't believe I finally mustered up the guts to make my own, but more importantly to find the courage to keep it going.
Without the support of all my best friends, family, and fellow bloggers I probably wouldn't have made it to this point so consistently. Thank you to anyone who has ever come here to see my pictures, take the time sit through any of my frivolous post write ups, wrote me a comment, or complimented me about this silly thing in passing; every single gesture means the world. I won't even give thanks to "readers" becuase most of you guys are like me, blogging about our collective love of style and I feel super honored to have gotten to know some of you super rad girls from across the world through comment tag, but mostly through a similar taste for fashion. I really hope to meet more in person through the coming years!

I could go on and on, but on an ending note, my post title is from one of my top favorite songs in the world by my favorite band The Killers. A song that inspires me a little bit more each time I hear it, and makes me feel proud about the things I've done in my life thus far. This one year milestone is one of those things!

So here's to many more posts, and many more bloggiversaries! Thanks for reading and baring with the gushy-ness; details of my outfit will be in the next post.

I reverted back to old favorites today like my snake belt, Rebecca bag, and this dress that I got tailored to fit my body like a glove. I originally bought it two sizes two big, and a foot too long. It was a total mom dress I transformed into something truly fit for tiny. It's one of those things in my closet I look at every so often and just think, that's me in dress form. The color, shape, and subtle design also make for challenging my inner Alexa. I love all these combined vomity beige colors; still can't get enough, and probably won't for all of eternity.

I wore my dress to work with some Fryes, and threw on the accessories/changed my shoes to step out for some frozen yogurt a bit ago. One of my other favorites in terms of summer treats; with lots of strawberries, blueberries, and rainbow sprinkles.

My bloggiversary is also coming up on Wednesday :) Hopefully it will be my first of many, I'm really excited for that post! Looking to do something different..

Sometimes I do turn to men's style as inspiration, I mean women are not the only ones on the planet to have interesting clothing choices. Although there are few and far between cases for men around here in New Jersey, the occasional guy has commendable style. And that small dose no matter how scarce it may be is always exciting for those with an eye for style; especially today for myself when I saw a random dude at the mall in a dope outfit. Pretty similar to this picture, (except mall guy was in a denim vest not jacket..its 90 degrees here guys!) I was compelled to dig out this shot of model Texas Olsson from the depths of my disorganized street style folder. It's full of inspiration I've collected over the past few years of my favorite looks to grace the blogosphere.

I'd like to try to do more inspired by posts, since they're pretty fun. Feeling inspired by everything all the time does not always happen, sometimes you're just plain uninspired. But one look at an eternity's worth of golden street style always helps those hidden creative juices resurrect from the dead.

Post vacation relaxation has been hard to find, I've been trying to catch up with myself in real life and it's taking longer than expected. June was a great month over all, but I'm still in school scrambling to get an obscene amount of homework done while juggling 40 hours at work a week so I can't say feel totally ready for July. But it's here so I gotta suck it up, shove some pizza rolls down the trap and do the damn thing.

Here we are! This was earlier in the week when we finally had a cool breeze. I decided to pick up lunch from my favorite deli Evergreen, and have a cosmic picnic in my backyard. This tops eyelet fabric is perfect for breathing in warm weather, while the structured shape of it allows for the hiding of copious junk food in-take. Later that day I had a red velvet shake. This is why I needed this shirt. (always reasoning with myself.)

I'm also trying to paint my nails more. How chonga did my awful paint job come out this time? I mean really a black french manicure..I might as well have used a sharpie. Messy, messy.

Bonnaroo: June 9-12.

My first photo diary on here! Super picture heavy; this is the best way for me to explain how I spent the best 4 days of my life thus far. Roo is like a utopia. There is no precise way for me to explain how amazing it is, if you are a music junkie like I am it's just something you have to experience for yourself.

My best friend Gaby and I ended up meeting and spending the weekend with the most fun, genuine people, seeing some of the craziest performances, hazily feasting on more ice cream than our bodies should probably consume in a lifetime, and laughed enough to give ourselves stomach aches. If we had to pick a few, the most memorable acts we saw would have to be Arcade Fire, The Black Keys, Florence & the Machine, Wavves, and Sleigh Bells.

We didn't want to ruin our good cameras so we bought the disposable Kodak ones, and I have to say, they took more interesting looking pictures than we probably would have gotten with our digitals! The disposables were also fun to play around with not knowing what the pictures will look like until we got the film developed. Loving the grainy texture of the photos, I think I want to use disposables more often. The last two rolls have yet to be developed so if they come out alright there might be some more left to share!

Top level mall parking lots are the best places to hang out on a sunny day. This particular one is my go to for Jupiter like festivities, and now apparently for possible tanning and outfit documentation.

I posted so close together to the previous becuase I'm attending a music festival this upcoming weekend (!) and will be unable to post for a while. I chose to wear one one of my more girly outfits before I'm soon gonna look like I've rolled in dirt. Also wearing a larger surplus of jewelry than I have been lately, since it's something I can't take with me on my trip. Jewelry is like my second skin but I can't risk losing pieces that mean a lot to me. I'm so excited though, and still have so much to pack and get ready.

The good news is I'll be using disposable cameras! Which means some film posts should ensue when I come home!

Still turning every bag possible into a clutch. I tucked the straps in from this fringy shoulder bag, and only managed to fit my debit card, id and phone into it afterwards but sometimes that's all I need to wander around with. I'm not the girl with half her room, the pharmacy and kitchen sink in her purse so I'm definitely the last person you want to ask for some lotion, or Advil. (This happens often). I only like to carry the least amount of items possible--wallet, cell phone, mini mirror and chapstick. Riveting, I know!

The shoes were a recent splurge, as I wanted to treat myself after getting a promotion at work. This girl will find any reason at all to make a purchase plausible...and that's all I had to fall back on after ordering them. The upside to my dwindling checking account is that these are a close doppelganger to the extremely unattainable pair of white Wang boots I posted about a while ago. There is even an added bonus with the mirrored heels; super unexpected on a pair of lace up boots.

Double print faux pas is my extended-too-long-kind-of middle name lately. I know mixing python prints might reach levels of tacky that I promised myself I would never reach, while simultaneously influencing more double clashes with other various prints lately (yeah..leopard is sadly one of them) but I think I can live with the ridicule. = extra Man Repeller points? I hope so.
I rescued these boots from the "kids boots" box at Udelco, after I dove into it for a good 20 minutes before digging them up from the very bottom. This should grant me some sort of box diving certification no? I cut off the tops since I knew I wanted them to be ankle boots and voila! Instant snake feet. I was thinking if really want to be festive I can velcro some googly eyes onto them, so they look more like real snakes on my feet. ...Well as real as possible with detachable eyes.
Excuse the childish ideas, but I mean I did just buy boots from the "kids" box..

A combination of finishing school, shitty weather, and no time has resulted in the neglect of my blog. Now that class is out, and hopefully the clouds are too there is much to look forward to and to document on here! A quick update:
Today is one of my best friends John's Graduation and my friends and I will be out celebrating at dinner with him tonight! Congrats Tess! So happy for him, and for our other friend Staci who also graduated today.
Lots of shows to look forward to also this summer, as my wallet is really feeling the pain. It doesn't bother me though becuase to me, shows are worth every penny. I love going to see bands, and especially in the summer there is nothing else I would rather do than watch some of my favorite bands perform my favorite songs. The big one I'm attending is the Bonnaroo music festival! If you're going let me know, I would love to meet up with people and other bloggers since its just me and my one friend Gaby going. We're a little nervous to travel alone but more excited than anything.

I've been loving bursts of yellow and orange neon with neutrals for the summer, which is something I never thought I'd see myself being into. But I've really been attracted to little pops of color lately!
My paper bag was made from the sweetest Etsy seller Dana, who I sent a picture of that Marie Turnor paper clutch I posted about a while ago. She already had a leather paper bag clutch listed and kindly added the magnetic closure so my items don't fall out. She did an amazing job and it has been fooling everyone into thinking my lunch is inside! Mission accomplished.

This Harley tee is apparently apart of my designated sick girl uniform. Last worn here, and really any other time I've felt under the weather. I've been sick all weekend, but yesterday feeling a bit better I wore this to grab some o.j for my throat.
I found this tee vintage shopping in Jersey City a few summers ago, and the worn in feel is what got me to take it home. I love when tees are already worn in, it makes them a thousand times more comfortable to wear, and this one is like my second skin. There's no other tee I'd rather roll around my death bed in.

Do you guys have designated pieces in your wardrobe for certain situations?

Yesterday was a beautiful Easter Sunday! Mine was full of family, food and surprise treats.

I woke up to my annual Easter basket, expecting only a few of my favorite candies, usual white chocolate bunny, and maybe a novelty or two related to Hello Kitty. I was shocked to find some cute surprises AND a brand new iPod Classic! I have been longing for a new one since I had an iTouch that would constantly freeze and didn't fit anywhere near my 7,000 song library. Now I don't have to try to pick and choose what I want on it, everything fits and my new one is only filled a quarter of the way now! It's also more than fitting that Day & Age is on the cover of the box... seems like good luck, since the Killers are my favorite band in the universe. So happy. I really have the best parents in the world.

I wore an H&M dress that was a bit too long for me, so I belted it with my new python belt I found while thrifting; which simultaneously quenches my need for all things snake like. (!) My necklace and ring were gifts I found in my easter basket, and I was so excited to pair them with my aa clutch and trusty illestevas I already planned on wearing to Easter brunch at my family friend's restaurant Sabor. By the time brunch ended I was more than glad I wore a dress that helped me hide my food baby, becuase we ate a LOT. I might or might not have moved a hole or two in my belt buckle. You know the food you just ate was beyond when you have to loosen your belt!

Flashback: Last Sunday with my best friends in NYC was full of countless mimosas, coma quality brunch, inside jokes, and window shopping. Was truly an ideal sunday funday.

Things still haven't slowed down much on the school-front, but I found myself with a bit of spare time for the first time in a while after I finished everything due last Thursday. It was friends birthday madness weekend! I spent it going back to the 90's with my friends and co workers for our manager and close friend Maraley's birthday, while yesterday I was celebrating our other friend Chelsea's birthday at Essex NYC for brunch. A couple mimosa's and crazy mexican breakfast later, we decided to walk off our food comas perusing little shops in the l.e.s. I have some pictures of my outfit from yesterday I'll share later in the week, after I go over them.

Balancing school, work, play time, and this stuff in all at once can get super stressful; thanks for baring with me. Only one month more and I'll be home free! This summer is sure to be more than promising with a lot of exciting events to look forward to. It will also be the first time I will be travelling with my best friend for a music festival we're really looking forward to. Can you guess which one it is?

The conscious collection. I saw a bunch of this stuff blogged about a while ago so when I discovered the pieces in NYC stores a few weeks ago I knew I needed a piece of it. Or maybe a chunk... But I got all of this for about 30 bucks, and what beats a good deal?! Nothing. H&M have supplied me with the latest of my feather collection. I'm really gonna need a teepee to live in soon, becuase I keep buying feather and fringe everything.

So I've been slacking a lot lately; hence the shitty photobooth picture, but within good reason. School has been really hectic the last week, and I've been stuck in a burning hell of papers, tests, and endless online work. Only a month left of school and I'll be 100 percent stress free once more. Waiting on that stable no jacket, windows open driving, and slush puppies weather too.

I also reached over 200 followers and I want to tell you guys I really appreciate you reading and giving me your opinions. I love making this blogging thing like a big giant conversation!

Went for a pretty simple look on a mild weather day. It wasn't hot and it wasn't cold; wasn't sunny but wasn't cloudy; kind of perfect except you still needed to wear a light jacket. My trench coat has been staring at me all winter, and after countless of times trying it on in my room, I usually have to put it back on the coat rack due to weather conditions.
FINALLY! I got the chance to wear it...with a pretty boring outfit you can't really see. It's alright though, I didn't want what I was wearing to upstage my coat in anyway since I was waiting so long to wear it. My new bag and shoes happened to match perfectly and I was out to grab coffee after only minutes of figuring out what to wear! Usually it takes much, much, much longer. ..Goddamn indecisive gene I can't get rid of.

I'm curious, does it take you guys a super long time to get ready too? Or do you just pick the first thing you try on and stick with it?!

Silver Sunday. Lotsa shininess going on here; much more than usual. I don't usually wear metallics, but I beyond love this sweater from H&M. It's metallic without looking too bright, and a thick knit without being too heavy. Spot on criteria to make for a versatile sweater. I also see it with white cropped skinny jeans or white lace tap shorts. There are many future options in my closet for this knit!
Today I dressed it up with my crazy tulle maxi skirt from Free People, that I last wore here. Sundays are usually a lazy outfit day, but I wanted to change that and try to get the productive juices flowing since school starts again tomorrow. How a big puffy tulle skirt is gonna turn on the motivation machine in my brain is beyond me, but I'll make an excuse to wear anything (as you can tell).

Instead of wearing massive heels, I opted for flat boots. This is one of my newer pairs I picked up at the LF sale two weeks ago in Soho. LF is the messiest store I have ever been to, and it was super difficult to find anything becuase it was so trashed. I felt horrible for the girls who had to work through it, so I tried on one or two things, put my stuff back as neatly as I could, and only ended up with this pair of green suede ankle boots. They are an incredible mossy green; which is a green hue I barely ever see for boots. Originally retailed for $295, I got these for $48! Such a steal, I couldn't pass them up. I want to wear them with lots of white and beige this spring, which speaking of-- officially starts tomorrow! Can't wait for more sunshine and blooming flowers. What are you guys most looking forward to about spring?

the greatest expectations

The color I most despise in the universe is kelly green. So you can predict I steered clear of the city/pubs/bars yesterday, and did basically the opposite of festivities involving oceans of people wearing said color. I went on a bike ride, played around with my Diana camera, read all of Where the Sidewalk Ends, and had Mexican for dinner. Let me tell you---there was not ONE person wearing green at Chipotle.

My spirit closest to St. Patty's was either gonna be reflected through teal, mint or forest green.

I chose the teal jeans, with this simple crop from AA. I didn't want to look too busy so I threw on my new wire necklace. I love it's minimalism, but it's pretty hard to see it when its on. To get a thicker one I think I'm gonna have to diy one myself, becuase this skimpy one was really difficult to find online. Even after searching endlessly, this one is a bit disappointing so for that I could have probably just made it myself.

Today is a beautiful day and I have a "cool hunting" project for Consumer Action to do with a friend from class in New York City! We have to go looking around for people we think have their own personal style, and write about it. I've never gone out and done this before so if the photos come out nicely I will post some of my favorites here! Should be fun to feel like a faux-street style photog for the day!

Pretty bummed the last few days have been non-stop rainfall in New Jersey, but it was one thousand times more upsetting to wake up to the news about Japan and the Pacific this morning. The pictures I saw of the tsunami/earthquake are unbelievable. My thoughts go out to everyone over in Japan as well as their families all over the world worrying about their safety.

Looking like my favorite ice cream flavor is definitely a recurring pastime of mine. I Posted a few days back about how I was craving the real thing as well as the color pallette, so yesterday I went through with that idea. Obsessed with high/low tops, and this cream one goes above and beyond with pretty crochet detailing in back. Makes for many different options of things to wear underneath, but this time I chose to double up on lace.
As I always rave about the color mint green, this clutch is everything I would want in a mini to go bag and it's envelope style is one I am really coveting at the moment. Totally on the hunt for a simple white one, since I'm not ready to completely immerse myself in a neon yellow or orange one yet. I need coaching to get to the point where I can fully accept brights into my wardrobe. I'm still really addicted to neutrals. Maybe i'll start with a nail varnish first; baby steps people. Baby. Steps.

Some of the most exciting news in my life lately is that I beat a difficult recipe I was having trouble with on cooking mama, I realized I make a mean oatmeal cookie (in real life) and lastly, I am a little over two months into my natural hair care resolution. The only way for me to get curling iron type curls without using any type of heat is sleeping with Princess Leia type buns. I look pretty stupid before bed... #foreveralone

Anyway, I love this navajo sweater. It's perfect for the current indecisive weather we've been having, and it's as heavy as a coat without having to wear one.

When is there not a good time to wear stripper shoes out of sheer enjoyment?! As tacky as it might sound, I think my crazy patent leather boots go with mostly everything. They add a bit of surprise, and a few double takes to any dress, pair of jeans, or shorts. I also wore them back in July with this outfit. They are extremely comfortable, and really easy to walk in for a shoe that looks mildly uncomfortable, and majorly inappropriate.

Paired it with my trusty crochet shorts, and the only mustard sweater I own. I find it hard to find the perfect mustard anything. It's always a color I'm looking for when shopping around but never seem to find it in great silhouettes. Still on the hunt for the perfect dress in said color. Maybe a day of vintage shopping is in order? Any suggestions where I should look?

they keep erasing the streets we grew up in

Yesterday was a bit more productive than my typical lazy Sunday. Did some homework, got these pictures done, and watched the Grammy's with my friends. I am so happy Arcade Fire won for Album of the Year! The Suburbs is more than deserving of the award, and If you've listened to the album enough, You'll know why.
In lieu of Valentine's Day today, I wanted to jump right into it by wearing black. I usually dislike black, but the shape, and style of this dress is my favorite kind to wear. Form fitting on top with a poofy skirt on the bottom is always a style I'm attracted to; but sadly, this dress was only made in black and a rather unflattering shade of purple. For once, I sacrificed color for style, when usually its the other way around. Maybe it's the inner child in me to like bouncy girly skirts.
I've had the Bebe boots forever, and after wearing a wide variety of heels in my lifetime thus far, I can honestly say these are quite hard to walk in. Could explain why in the two years I've had them, this is the first time I've worn them out. Maybe it's the way the shoe is made? I also have heels as tall as these that aren't hard to walk in, it's kind of strange.
Have you guys ever had the same problem ?! I'd love to hear some opinions :)

it's all built upon a burial ground

My trusty faux fur collar, that I put on with everything, matches with everything. Seriously, I have it in brown too, but it's okay these are the types of things you should have more than one color of. Faux fur collars are perfect to spruce up any outfit, whether you have a coat on or not.

Today was a long, boring, and most tiring day, especially since waking up at 6 am every morning for school or work is catching up with me. By the end of the day, all I wanted to do was run home and put on something fun to wake me up and put me in a good mood. Mission accomplished! I was feeling good vibes mostly from this baby blue sweater despite the rather melancholy overall grey/blue color combo.
So I'm cheating on my favorite spring rose-color pallette! ..I feel kinda bad, but then again the layers kept me warm and these colors suited the weather perfectly while simultaneously helping me compliment the dirty-beer-cans-scattered-on-concrete of a background.

So, while waiting impatiently for Spring, I vow to embrace the other pastel colors in my closet.

we can never get away from the sprawl

If you notice me looking in the same general direction in basically every shot it's because I can never take my eyes off my cat, Wednesday.

I spent all day yesterday laying around with him, watching the new UK episode of Skins season 5 through an online proxy, eating pizza rolls and playing Cooking Mama on my Dsi. I've accepted the fact that I am a child in an adult body, and have decided to make the most out of it.

Acquiring rose gold, as said in my previous post is officially my first conquest in getting ready for the new season. This Dannijo ring is not coming off my finger any time soon! My need for light shades of rose and pastels also inspired my outfit. This sweater is crazy soft and warm, but the best part is it's not itchy at all! There's also a deep cut in the back, it adds a bit of surprise to a seemingly plain sweater.

White is my absolute favorite color to wear at all times, where as most people I know love wearing black. There is a certain sensuality yet childlike purity I associate with white clothing, and I love nothing more than a simple white top or dress. This tunic dress I'm wearing tops my personal perfection scale with it's subtle bell sleeves and slouchy fit. (No, I can not and will not ever put the bell sleeves to rest!.)

TGIF. Quick post before I head out for the night!

I wore this yesterday; it was freezing and I wanted to be as comfy as possible. These knit shorts were the perfect option with my poncho, comfort factor: achieved. My gray shoes are new and I was super nervous that they wouldn't fit because I had to order a size up. I was dumb and waited too long to buy them and they were sold out in my normal size. Surprisingly, they fit perfectly! Guess the things I hear about ASOS running small are sometimes true. Have you guys ever had a problem with ASOS sizing? I'm curious.

My cats are always curious as ever trying to get involved in my posts. This one's name is Wednesday, and he's my cat who literally follows me around everywhere. A little picture heavy today but I really wanted to include all the cute ones of W!

Here's the outfit I wore under the shaggy cream coat, which is why I looked like a linebacker in said pictures. The thick knit is super comfy but extremely big on me, so this is one situation in which being tiny does not benefit me. I still love wearing it, it just makes me look wider than I usually am when I wear jackets over it. Gotta be careful about my overcoat options.

Also.. mildly obsessed with the Danys. I recently got this tan pair in after Jessica Simpson's website had a crazy good sale I couldn't pass up. Do you guys buy things you really like in multiple colors? I hope I'm not the only one!

I was thinking about how I've never posted any of my coats, and I have an insane amount of them to share. When I really really like something, I stop at nothing to find what I'm looking for in copious amounts of colors, and sizes. I was going through a green phase when I was on the hunt for the perfect long green coat, with a blazer counterpart. I gave up over a year ago, until I came across this gem yesterday for only 9.99. It's the perfect boxy fit I've been looking for and is more suitable as a short coat than a blazer. I never really wear blazers anymore to begin with, but this perfect one has got me wanting to try pulling a few of my other ones out from the dead.

I wore the basis of this outfit except with a different change of shoes and handbag to one of my best friends Amanda's going away dinner last night. She's going to Peru for a month, and although my friends and I are all gonna miss her a lot we still want her to have an amazing sick time. She gave me the most beautiful ankh ring for Christmas at the dinner and I can't wait to post it. It's perfect. She's probably gone by now but already counting the weeks till she comes back!

After all the rush involved with last minute gifts, Christmas time, and New Years plans, I'm finally back into the swing of things. As you would guess one of my main new years resolutions is to post more. I love posting so much but am never able to plan out when to do it successfully, I'm pretty scatterbrained and things always come up.

Last year was completely bittersweet, with high highs and low lows, but I can say that I accomplished everything I hoped I would. I started my blog and ebay shop which are two things I've wanted to do for years now. I couldn't be happier where I am in this regard and can only hope for things to get even better.

Putting all the mushiness aside, Here's today's outfit . I scored this cream lace top from H&M in NYC last month apart of their crazy deals sale for only $10, when it's usually $34. I also got the sick deer ring in a woodland animal rings pack, for $7, and I love it paired with a bunch of other brass colored rings; it's a refreshing change to my usual silver fingers. New ring colors, new year I guess!

Christmas day, two days late... I found myself back at my Titia's house for part two, and didn't want to bore you right away with pictures from the same setting, so I waited a few days!
I have to say my Christmas this year was more than good to me.
Some things I got like these really fun black cat ear muffs from h&m, hello kitty silly bands and pens were what I brought with me to my aunts house for the night. They are just a peek into what I found under my tree this year, but a post with everything else is planned within the coming days, since I got a few emails asking me to share what I got! I just want to make the two posts separate :)

On my outfit, this knit dress is one of my current favorites, and have managed to put in 3 wears this week already! I never want to take it off. A little hard to see in the pictures, but its a floor length dress with crazy stretch and super long sleeves. I love when garments have ridiculously long sleeves. I'd rather the excess material than 3/4 sleeves any day. Since I'm pretty tiny, sleeves are usually too long on me anyway, but I have reason to believe these were made extra long on purpose, making the dress more than perfect for my tastes. The taupe color seals the deal. Worn with my favorite head crown and crochet poncho, I felt just as cozy as I wanted to this Christmas. The fact that I spent the entire night on the couch allowed my outfit to make even more sense.

Merry Christmas! Here's what my Christmas Eve looked like at my Titia's house. Low lights, pine smells, candles, and family is just what I look forward to most about the holidays. Missing those down in Florida, but they're here in spirit.

I can't wait for more over-indulgence of food and sweets later tonight back at my Titia's house as well as breaking in some new presents. I am so thankful I got everything I wanted with some more added surprises, I really hope the same goes for all of you.

I'm alive guys! Sadly, the lack of updates were inevitable. School ate me alive as I tried desperately to save my final grades by studying for hours on end. Luckily I did pretty well for barely scraping by this semester. Let's just say as a Senior, I'm really over it and totally ready to work a real job in the real world. But that's a whole other subject...

I spent the rest of last week catching up with myself, my friends, eBay and Christmas shopping. I've still got some last minute gifts to get, and since I'm the self professed queen of procrastination I will probably get it done closer to the end of the week. The upside is that Christmas is on a Saturday this year, and that means a weekend off of work! I don't even have to work the day after Christmas either because of those beautiful blue laws. Thanks Bergen County, you're good for something.

Today was all about warmth. It's been hard for me to get warm lately, so I took a impromptu trip to the Salvy last week on the way home from my last final. I ended up with over a dozen new sweaters for the crazy wind chill ahead, and happened upon a few other gems I'll post about soon. Two of my favorite things acquired were this forest green sweater and black western belt. I had been looking for the perfect western belt for a while, and after sort of giving up, a serious triumph came over me at the Salvy when I spotted this one. I think I actually gasped out loud in sheer joy, which quickly turned to embarrassment while everyone else shopping also witnessed this moment.

So I get crazy excited when I finally find things after endlessly searching for them... I hope I'm not the only one!

So unfortunately this has been me all weekend, and basically until the end of finals on Wednesday. I can't wait to have all that extra time I haven't had in months to start posting more again.

falling and laughing at the drinks we spilled

22nd birthday! Honestly, the best one yet, thanks to my amazing friends and family. I had the time of my life, and I never knew it was possible to fulfill so many dreams in one weekend. Recap; because I can't help myself....
Thursday which was my real birthday, my friend John and I went to see Brandon Flowers at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC with our friend Nikki. LEGIT was dying. If you don't know, The Killers are my favorite band of all time, and I've always dreamed of seeing them on my birthday. Brandon Flowers recently released a solo cd because The Killers needed a break for a while, and I was looking into see him play a show nearby. What are the odds that the show in NYC would be on my BIRTHDAY?!! Cannot even explain how perfect it was to spend the night at one of his shows. I have never felt so happy on my birthday in my life and I got to spend it with my best friends. To top it off he played 3 killers songs. One of which, Read My Mind, is one of my all time favorite songs in the world. Honestly wasn't sure how well he would perform the songs on his own since its his first solo project, but he really proved how epic his live performance is.

Friday John and I went on a hunt for My Chemical Romance / Gaslight Anthem tickets. John's wanted to see My chem since he was 15 and I have to admit they were one of my favorites when I was a teenager too. So, we found tickets off Craigslist, and seriously relived our our scene-age dreams (lol). I was also super excited to see Gaslight Anthem; I've really grown to love them more and more this year. If I ever can't think of an artist to listen to in the car, I always end up picking Gaslight. They're perfect to listen to on a sunny day, windows down, while driving. My car turns karaoke whenever I put them on, it's pretty embarrassing.

Saturday my friends and I went to The Ritz, which is pretty much our favorite spot in the city to dance. Simply put, they play all the right music. The two nights previous my friends met up with us too to go out to dance afterward, just figuring out where we ended up is sort of blurry.

Overall, it was a weekend of music, dancing, good times, and my best friends. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday. I wanted to show a few things I got as presents but I'll save that for a different entry; I wanted to make this one about thanking everyone for making my birthday(s) so special.

she's in a daze without a care

November 29th marked the first day of my birthday week! My official birthday is this Thursday, December 2nd, but my family usually spends the whole week celebrating it. Might have something to do with being the only child. Either way, this week is filled with really exciting places to go and things to do with my favorite people. On Sunday I went with my mom to Alice's Tea Cup and shopping in NYC. Alice's Tea Cup is the cutest Alice in Wonderland inspired tea haunt where you can choose from over a hundred different tea flavors and eat some of the most delicious scones you'll ever have. My mom and I went last year, also on the Sunday before my birthday so it's proving to be a tradition in celebrating my birthday going forward. Really appropriate for us too, because my mom and I are really into tea. You'd think there was some English in our blood, because we drink anywhere between 2-4 cups of tea every day. There is never a time when I am not in the mood for tea, and barely a time when my mom isn't brewing a kettle. She makes the best tea ever, and I can't explain how different her's tastes from the others. I even have a little teacup tattoo behind my ear in her honor! Tea is a way of life in our house, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
At Alice's Tea Cup I had the birthday tea. I was so excited because they were fresh out of it last year and when I tried it this year it was delicious. We bought some to brew at home, even though we usually have lipton's with lotsa coffee mate. I think I want a cup on Thursday morning, just to fulfill that b-day feeling.

The coat was super comfy and an early present from Free People. I love Free People as much as the next girl but I find that their clothes are not exactly made for every body type. They definitely don't cater to the vertically challenged when it comes to skirts, dresses, long cardigans, and especially jeans so I have to try everything on before buying. (most of their clothes look ridiculous on me..) This coat however was sold out online a bunch of times, and after watching it for about two months I caved when one size 2 appeared online randomly, while all the other sizes were still sold out. Impulse buy indeed... and I know I didn't try it on, but I'm so glad I took the chance. It fits perfectly; a bit over sized just like I like it! Also the softest, and lightest coat I have, it won't be too useful when the temperature drops, but is definitely great as a luxe throw coat over anything while indoors. As a last touch, I thought my necklace as a head chain would add more of the birthday effect.

I have a mound of homework that needs to be finished before Thursday and now's the best time to get it done, so out with the procrastination, get everything done, and finally have the rest of the week to celebrate being a year older.

I predict a cupcakecoma in my future..

So thanksgiving is mostly about food. Why not start and finish this entry with pictures of my family's drool inducing thanksgiving feast? I look forward to this day for 364 days every year, and it came and went so quickly, I'm genuinely upset it's over. But Christmas (food wise) is a close second to thanksgiving, so there is still that to look forward to.
Remember when I mentioned in my previous entry about how I think in color sometimes? Today I was seriously thinking in red tints, and exactly how I think was portrayed through the lens perfectly. All my pictures were complete with that red-cozy-thanksgiving style tint I've imagined in my head. It gives me a fuzzy feeling to go through pictures that promote such a relaxing day, spending the whole time eating and chilling on repeat at my Uncle Lou and Titia's house. I attribute the lighting to my Titia's love of low lights, and how much more comforting a house feels minus fluorescent lighting. I agree, even in my room I always keep the lights low and candles going, it creates a cozy atmosphere I can't really describe.
About being cozy, I went makeup-less and wore my new BDG cable knit I got from work yesterday. I'm that freak that needs a new outfit for every occasion, and I got this sweater specifically for the food baby I'm currently housing. I knew I wanted a loose knit since I was gonna be inhaling a few pounds of food, which calls for wanting the ultimate comfort factor in choosing what to wear. I mean no one wants to be laying around in a complicated outfit after a turkey coma. It was long enough for dress length on me (shocking) so I wore my trusty American Apparel slip underneath with tights, socks, and boots. Nothing can keep me away from heels for any occasion no matter how comfy I wanna be, and I took them off shortly there after.

Now I'm gonna mentally prepare myself by dreaming of next year's thanksgiving dinner for later today because I'm working my third Black Friday. Definitely not something to be excited about; I'd stay away from me tomorrow if you're shopping at gsp, rude/difficult/mentally insane customers bring out the worst in me. Just a friendly heads up. (mildly kidding)

A look into my brain. Hazy thoughts today have all been displayed in a dreamy blue tone. Kind of like when a movie has that certain cerulean tint to it. Two of my favorite movies above, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Adam have that blue touch. Both are definitely worth watching.

Also -- On a serious hunt for blue suede shoes. There's a pair I've got my eye on by Dolce Vita, but I'm not too sure about the price, especially since I'm not head over heels in love with them. IF I had endless amounts to spend on the other hand I'd most likely go with the Pura Lopez T-strap ones. They are everything I'd want in a blue suede shoe, only minus the price tag of course. The Giuseppe's are a luxe second place.

I was up all night studying/doing homework, so I think I'm gonna spend the rest of my day on a relaxing note; drinking tea, bumping my heated blanket up to the maximum number, and watching movies that fill my moody blue craving. Maybe one of these two?

Back to normal... you know the having-an-insane-amount-of-things-to-do-I-might-just-die kind of normal. Nothing too out of the ordinary. I have two tests, a research survey to take part in, and a movie paper due ALL on Tuesday. Should I start spooning my eyeballs out today or wait till tomorrow? Sad face...

Anyway, thinking more and more about my Uncle Sam lately since his passing, I had an urge to go digging through my black hole of a closet to find these super old plum colored Charlotte Ronson platforms when I got home. Purple was his favorite color, and it felt only appropriate I centered my first outfit back around those purple shoes in his honor. I get super cheesy when associating things with people, and they remind me of him. The platforms look like slingback loafers, but almost lean towards a 70's style with the chunky heel and platform. One of my only colored pairs of shoes, they're suede in the most fall appropriate deep plum color.

Along with being gone all week and a self professed online shopaholic I came home to a few packages of things I had ordered and the rvca cardigan shown here was something that came in. The huge bell sleeves captured my heart when I first saw the picture, and the all over fringe just sealed the deal. Looks almost like it was hand knit, and feels just as soft on as it looks! The lavender shade in the sweater went well against the shoes, so I took it out for a test run on an adventure in the woods of the park. It kept me pretty warm while climbing mini moss hills in platforms on my bootleg hike. Looks like its sure to be a new favorite in my closet.

half a world away at times like these

Taken before I left, and before all the bad things that have happened in the last week actually happened; I wore this comfy outfit to lay around the house. The cold turns me into a homebody during the week more and more as the weather continues to drop. It also leads me lusting over chunky knits in the form of cardigans, shawls, throw sweaters, scarves, bottoms... so basically anything that can be knit. I bought this back in the summer knowing I'd see a lot of it later on. I was right, and this fringe cardigan was like my right arm this past week. It's got an awesome long drape, and is just the perfect thickness to throw over a shirt and pants, dress ^, or even pajamas while laying around my room. There's nothing better than just having some pieces in your closet you can really throw over everything.

I can't say I'm not enjoying the Florida weather even though the atmosphere is pretty sad among my family. Thankfully, everyone has kept it together pretty well despite everything. A special thanks to my friends who have sent me thoughtful texts, messages, tweets, and emails about my loss, I really love you guys. You know who you are.

New hardware. The second I saw this ring I knew it was love. I ordered it a few weeks ago for a great price through etsy.com, one of my top sites for ornate purchases. The crafters/artists on etsy are all so incredibly talented and make incredibly beautiful things. I get lost for hours on their website, and always find something to lust over.

A few days later Rumi's line collab with Dannijo premiered on tobi.com, and I'm in love with so many of the pieces. One of which closely resembles my recent ring purchase!...

you deserve an award for the role that you played

I want to apologize for being absent from blogging the remainder of the week but unfortunately a tragedy has struck my family and left me no time to think about the blog. My Uncle Sam from Florida passed away on Thursday. He was not just an Uncle, but my Godfather too, and was very close to me. He was by far the most vibrant, hilarious, and caring person I have ever known.
Right now my family is figuring out arrangements, and I'm going to have to go to Florida at some point next week to be with my family down there. I will try to blog once or twice, but it might be hard. Thank you guys for understanding.

Here's the rest of the shots from a post or two ago before Halloween weekend. It was the official last lukewarm day before the real fall winds came along. Sometimes I get the feeling that it's winter already, especially at night since it feels like -0 degrees. But complaining aside, I'm enjoying the fall and the park looks so gorgeous in its seasonal colors. On this particular day, although it was hotter than usual, I tried to keep the fall color scheme going strong.

That sweater has all my favorite shades of brown and happened to match perfectly with my jumper I waited till the end of the summer to buy (this didn't happen on purpose). The boots I may or may not have bought simply because they were called the "Prince" boots.....Love him; but I still love the boots too! They're made of the most perfect buttery suede, and I love the silver hardware. Any boot that has silver > gold hardware captures my heart instantly. AND They look more like hiking boots in person than just a normal lace up boot, AND I'll have you here hours longer if I keep going on about the boots...

True fall colors. So its finally early November (LOL, also used to be my favorite band) and this is my favorite part of fall. My birthday is coming up soon, December 2nd to be exact, but I always wished it was in November. I still consider my birthday to be in the fall since Winter is officially December 21st, and fall is the best season for a million reasons. Mostly for caramel apple tea/coffee/lattes/ciders, heated blankets, endless amounts of candles, thick socks, pumpkin aromas, my friends fall birthdays and early holiday coziness.
This jacket to me, epitomizes the fall in coat form. The Navajo print is not only a favorite staple of mine in any color, but this coat has the most fall appropriate pallet of color combos possible. Browns, greens and a touch of orange for good measure leads me to believe the coat was inspired by fall leaves. The furry hood is just the added bonus. A lot of the jackets I have don't have hoods, so the touch of the hood sold me, and I went beyond wanting to needing the coat. I had ordered it back in September when I first saw it and only received it last week since it was on backorder. It was well worth the wait!

Amanda, Jon, and I on Halloween!

These were the only pictures I got of Halloween Weekend :(. I forgot my camera in the car all 3 nights, and two of my closest friends Amanda (yes another one!), Jon, and I took these before we went out on Sunday night. We met up with the rest of our quite enormous extended group of friends and had good times, laughs and got in plenty of dancing as always while dressed up. You can't really see it here but I was Sailor Mars! My costume was made, since I don't like buying generic costumes from a plastic bag. :) How was your halloween? What did you dress up as?

topshop fleece pea coat, hm sweater worn as a dress, target socks, steve madden platforms, diy headchain, thrifted quartz + cross necklace/fashionology moon necklace, ebay/kechua life rings.

I don't mind hearing everyone's opinion about socks and sandals, but I personally love the combination. Most importantly--for a reason beyond fashion; they allow me to wear my favorite platform sandals in unacceptable temperatures while keeping my feet toasty warm. To me, there is nothing wrong with that. Guess its all just a matter of preference, really; but I'm fully on board!

Today was far from coat weather, but I needed a reason to wear this beautiful jacket. Thanks to Ebay, selling my old clothes and shoes has been the best way to swap out old things I have grown out of and accept new pieces into my wardrobe. This is one of the items I had swapped something out to make room for. I love how over sized it is and the way it almost feels like I'm wearing a robe. But being comfortable in coats is one of the most important things I consider when dishing out the money for one. I hate putting on a coat and lifting up my arms to feel tightness, or even the look of it being tight after buttoning/zippering it up. Neither of the latter issues apply to this coat. It might just become my favorite coat of all time.

And I don't know about you guys...but the leaves everywhere gives me such a warm fuzzy feeling inside. The fall always has been and always will be my favorite season of all.

all garments found at the uo sample sale in philly.

Finds! Here's some silhouettes & details of the things I found at the uo sample sale. I went with my friends Sandra and John and we had an amazing time. More box diving... you know this is one of my favorite pastimes. It was a beautiful day and we spent a good two hours trying to find stuff. The trip proved a great success! Most of the things I found are very spring-y with a touch of fall, but the color palette I like to wear all year round is pretty spring and fall inspired to begin with. I'm more of a neutrals/pastel colored type of girl over blacks, and dark colors, always. Lots of beige shades, some light blue, and a burst of olive green for good measure in the mix here. Some things still had sample tags and safety pins, as it was a true sample sale, and we really were picking up things that may or may not have been processed into garments to be sold. It's sick to know that you might just be the only person in the world to have anything you pick up!

The types of garments I found were all pretty cool, ornate finds. Some of which were : a crochet halter, back tie cut out long sleeve cotton top, blue floral button up frock, sheer tied dress, long jade cut out skirt, simple gray velvet swatch of fabric I tied onto my purse, etc.. Currently obsessing over anything velvet, so the second I felt the gray velvet piece of fabric, no matter how small it was I was gonna figure out something to do with it. It just so happened to compliment my new Rebecca Minkoff handbag perfectly. Isn't it the best feeling when things just fall into place?

If my face in the first picture isn't an indication of what the last week has been like, I don't know how better to describe it. Last week I had tests in all 4 classes, a case study, paper, and much more due for school. I also shipped out over 10 packages of items I sold on Ebay, and tried to fit in these pictures somewhere between everything. I never got around to posting them because my internet was down for a day or two (this would happen to me) & still hadn't gotten better from being sick, thus was spending some full days in bed.

I'm slowly starting to feel better though, and honestly sorry for the serious neglect. But --- no more of that, here are the pictures, and lets just say this outfit is full of some of the best finds I have snagged lately. The shirt was another lucky score at Udelco, as I was diving into a HUGE box of velvet items, pulling each item out one by one. Took me almost 2o minutes to pull out everything and I finally came across this top from the Gap. Fits perfectly, and I love the color. During my next trip, my friend Sandra managed to find this perfect navajo print bag. The zipper is broken but i'm going to try to fix it. Definitely worth it for only 5 bucks. Finds like these make box diving head first into mothball ridden-smelly clothes more than worth it.
